June 3rd 2009 Central Region Meeting
This month the newly elected officers will take over the reins of guiding and leading the Central Region for the next 12 months. We will also have a short slide show put together by Alan Bloom. It shows some of what the photographers attending Steve Yahr's outdoor lighting seminar on May 12 experienced. There will also be a report of the May PPANJ State meeting.
Our speaker this month is Noelle Zaleski. She will discuss, " How to make Sports Composites using Photoshop.
Don't forget to enter you images for the Mini Region Image Competition. This month we have an open Theme. Winning entry will receive up to $15 to cover the cost of their dinner that night.
Send your images (no more than 2 per entrant) by Email to Ed O'Malley at EJOmalleyinc@optonline.net. Images should be jpeg and no larger than 5x7 at 250dpi.

Central Region Meetings - January & February 2009
JANUARY 7th
The Speaker for our January Meeting is — Jim LaSala — M.Photographer, MEI, CPP, Cr
The Topic is — Taking your portraits to the next level.
Jim’s program will demonstrate how to get the “WOW” factor for print competition, and by using the same techniques, giving your clients a wider variety to choose from.
Jim opened “Strike A Pose Photography” , located in Flemington, NJ, in 1990 and has been the recipient of many well deserved recognitions and awards.
Some of Jim's accomplishments :
NJ Photographer of the Year, 5 Zeltsman Awards, Mallis Award, Fassbender Award (best in show), 8 Fuji Masterpiece Awards, 8 Loan Collection Images Published, 3 General Book Images Published, 2 Traveling Loans, 2 ASP Awards, 1 Kodak Gallery Award, and 1 Epcot Image, and numerous others.

She is President Elect of the New York Tri-state Chapter of AICI (the Association of Image Consultants International), and former Regional Director of Fashion Group International, and a former FORD NY model. Terri trains in every area of personal development and is considered an expert in the industry. Her presentation will include the following topics:

2008 Holiday Party
The feedback is in and the PPANJ 2008 Holiday Party was a success.
With over 200 members not including their spouses we had hoped for a better turnout, but the 90 people who did attend had a very good time. The location, the food and the entertainment were great. Flint Gennari and Terry Geerdts did a fantastic job taking and giving out free 4x6 portraits of those in attendance. You can see the images Flint and Terry took at http://www.fineartfotos.com/ .

2008 Holiday Party
The Central Region Holiday party originally scheduled for Dec 3 at John Pacetti's Studio has been cancelled.
We will, instead, join both the North and South Regions in a combined State Holiday Party.
The date is: December 15, 2008 from 6:30 PM to 11 PM
The location: Forsgate County Club, 375 Forsgate Drive
Monroe Township, NJ 08831
Those of you who have been to Forsgate before, know how good the food is, plus there will be entertainment. The price is also very good. Only $29 per head for a member and his 1st guest. Additional sponsored guests or employees are $49.
Register on-line at our website or contact the State Secretary.
This should be a great evening of Food, Music, Dance, Entertainment, and Socializing.
Please make every attempt to attend and support your Organization.
Informational flyers will be sent out by the State Secretary.

GRAB BAG. Bring a wrapped gift worth about $10 to $20 max. Participation in the grab bag is not required.

Our next meeting is November 5th at the Peter Pank Diner.
We discuss what we want to do for December. As I see it we have 3 choices. 1. Have a holiday party. 2. Have a regular meeting. Or 3. Take the month off. Please bring a preference or a suggestion for an alternative.
This month we will have our annual “Off the Wall Competition” Members from other regions may compete as well. You are allowed to enter up to 4 images. The images must be at least 8x10 and can be either mounted or framed.
We will also have our annual July Shoot Out Competition. This is open only to members of the Central Region and must be images that were taken at our July Shoot Out at Allaire State Park in July of 2008. Members are allowed to submit 2 images.
The judges will be, Gene Urban, Vinny Piciocchi, and Michael Travisano
